Simple Classic White Russian Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz vodka
  • 1 oz Kahlua or coffee liqueur
  • 1 oz heavy cream or half-and-half
  • Ice
  • Optional: whipped cream and a cherry for garnish

  1. Fill a rocks glass with ice cubes.
  2. Pour the vodka and Kahlua over the ice.
  3. Gently pour the cream or half-and-half over the top of the vodka and Kahlua.
  4. Optional: top with a dollop of whipped cream and a cherry.
  5. Stir gently and enjoy!

Note: If you prefer a stronger or weaker drink, you can adjust the amount of vodka and cream to your taste. You can also substitute the heavy cream with milk or a dairy-free alternative for a lighter version of the cocktail.

The White Russian gets it’s name from the Black Russian Cocktail; the only difference really is the addition of cream. The drink was first made in the early 1960’s, and has no actual Russian origin – it is American through and through. The name comes form the fact almost all vodka used to be imported from Russia
