Organising a Christmas Party can be challenging, so we’ve put together some top tips and advice.

Elite Bars are well into Christmas Party season. With various mobile bar hire solutions throughout the North West and beyond taking place over the next coming weeks. The parties we have done so far have come in all different themes and sizes, from 10 guests to a whopping 200 the other Friday.

If you are yet to organise your big Christmas bash, we’ve got a few tips to help you avoid a complete and utter festive disaster! – But do be warned. Time is running out.

Choose a good location everyone can get to (and make their way home safely)
Hiring a hall or a venue in the middle of nowhere just because its more within your budget, might not be advisable. Your staff need to get home easily and safely so maybe look at a sensible location otherwise you might end up having to extract stranded (and potentially inebriated) employees in the middle of the night. Not fun.

Speak to your employees – find out what they want – within reason
Look to accommodate as many suggestions as possible whilst at the same time managing expectations. Don’t just make assumptions about what your employees would like from a Christmas party. Sitting at a table in a dodgy paper cracket hat, armed with a party popper while nursing a lukewarm glass of plonk may not be everyone’s idea of fun. And at least you can say you tried!

Include some entertainment
Do you look at and trust your staff to make their own entertainment? Well that that could be quite dangerous! Similar to above, find out what they want. But ultimately, try to include maybe a singer/band, or games provided by an event company. (We know a few if you’re looking for help). Like anything, do not leave it to the last minute.

Look to cater for all
If your Christmas celebration includes a meal option. Look to find out their preferences, dietary requirements and allergies well in advance to make sure you provide a suitable range of options. ‘Hangry’ partygoers are the worst kind of company.

And finally . . . make the booze policy clear
If drink is to be provided, make it known from the very start how many drinks are allocated to each person, or what the budget is, so that there are no surprises on the evening. This may upset Barbara in ‘Accounts’ – but at least she was forewarned.

Conclusion: Bringing Your Festive Vision to Life

Organising an awesome Christmas party doesn’t have to be a source of holiday stress. By starting your planning early, focusing on a cohesive theme, and prioritizing the guest experience, specifically through high-quality food and drink, you set the stage for a celebration that will be talked about well into the New Year. Remember, the secret to a successful event lies in the balance between meticulous logistics and those small, personal touches that make your guests feel truly valued.

Whether you are hosting an intimate gathering at home or a grand corporate gala, the atmosphere is defined by the energy you bring to the planning process. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box with your entertainment or to experiment with a unique, seasonal cocktail menu that reflects your brand or personality.

The Final Piece of the Puzzle

Ultimately, the best hosts are the ones who get to actually enjoy the party themselves. By outsourcing complex elements, like the bar service, to the professionals, you free yourself up to mingle, celebrate, and soak in the festive spirit alongside your guests.
